Energy 2 Work

energy2work-logoWe are proud to announce we have been shortlisted for an annual award from UnLtd the social entrepreneurial funders for our innovative employment business idea.

“Energy saving and carbon reducing partnership helping to reduce re-offending”

The company is a self-funded Community interest Company.

The Concept

Within Her Majesty’s Prison employment system, a chance to give inmates the opportunity and the benefit of external employment and training within the busy Energy saving and carbon Reduction business sector based on refurbishing current homes and buildings within the Lancashire area.

The current proposal is that the inmates would be employed for a minimum of five months, five days a week on sites within the Lancashire area.

The inmates would learn new site based skills within this busy growing business sector and be given the chance to rehabilitate, readjust and to earn some self respect through their own employment. This enables the inmate to both enhance their potential for their financial stability for their future and it would also broaden their opportunities for a brighter, offending free life, upon release.

All successful candidates would learn about and would gain, as a minimum, a certification in Health and Safety on building sites. In addition to this each candidate will gain their own personal CSCS card and would wear their own PPE, for work on building sites in the future. All the above will be funded by the energy2work initiative.
